Swope Health\u2019s medical mobile unit will be located on the south lawn of the National WWI Museum and Memorial (2 Memorial Drive, KCMO), and clinical staff will be onsite all three days to administer the COVID-19 bivalent booster to interested attendees, age 12 and above.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to HHS, more than three-quarters of American adults and two-thirds of all Americans have been vaccinated against COVID. With 300,000 people predicted to attend the NFL Draft in Kansas City, Swope Health\u2019s mobile medical unit offers a unique opportunity to help a large national crowd of people to ensure they stay current with recommended COVID-19 vaccine protection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe COVID-19 vaccine enables us to keep infection rates low, prevent the transmission of the virus, and protect the most vulnerable in our communities,\u201d said Naiomi Jamal, M.D., M.P.H., C.M.Q., Chief Health Officer of Swope Health. \u201cIt also allows us the chance to have in-person community events, such as the one we\u2019re eagerly anticipating in Kansas City,\u201d she said. \u201cWe are excited to take part in this historic moment, while serving the public in the ongoing effort to keep everyone safe against the virus.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This vaccination effort is brought to the NFL Draft as part of<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HHS\u2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wecandothis.hhs.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We Can Do This<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> COVID-19 Public <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Education Campaign<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is a national initiative to increase public confidence in and uptake of COVID-19 vaccines<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Media opportunities:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the NFL Draft, Dr. Jamal, as well as Swope Health\u2019s President and CEO Jeron Ravin, J.D., and the HHS Regional Director for Region 7, headquartered in Kansas City, are available for interviews in advance of the draft weekend.
