{"id":14296,"date":"2023-07-31T06:08:38","date_gmt":"2023-07-31T11:08:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swopehealth.org\/?p=14296"},"modified":"2024-02-10T08:58:15","modified_gmt":"2024-02-10T14:58:15","slug":"community-health-center-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swopehealth.org\/community-health-center-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Join us in celebrating Community Health Center Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every August, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nachc.org\/\">National Association of Community Health Centers<\/a> sponsors <a href=\"https:\/\/healthcenterweek.org\/\">National Health Center Week<\/a> to increase awareness of the 1,400 Community Health Centers across the country.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is a time set aside to celebrate the commitment that Community Health Centers show in making quality, comprehensive healthcare services available to more than 30 million patients across 14,500 communities annually.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This year, National Health Center Week takes place <strong>Sunday, Aug. 6 through Saturday, Aug. 12. Swope Health supports this celebration and takes pride in our role in serving as Kansas City\u2019s voice of community health. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please plan on joining us! Here\u2019s our line up of activities for the week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sunday, Aug. 6:<\/strong> <strong>Public Health and Housing Day<\/strong><br \/>\nWatch our social media for special features and interviews with our associates who work our Residential facilities. Swope Health operates residential facilities at Kanzetta Harris House, Benton Home, Penn Place and Swope Gardens.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Monday, Aug. 7:<\/strong> <strong>Healthcare for the Homeless Day<\/strong><br \/>\nSwope Health associates will be donating foods and family essential supplies for our outreach clinic clients throughout the week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tuesday, Aug. 8: Agricultural Worker Day<\/strong><br \/>\nSwope Health will recognize the Kansas City area\u2019s rural farm and agricultural workers on social media.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, Aug. 9: Patient Appreciation Day<\/strong><br \/>\nWe\u2019ll provide healthy snacks for patients at Swope Health Central!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, Swope Health President and CEO Jeron Ravin, JD, will meet with Congressman Jake LaTurner at Swope Health KidsCARE Golon Pediatrics, our newest location in Leavenworth, KS.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thursday, Aug. 10: Stakeholder Appreciation Day<\/strong><br \/>\nAs a show of appreciation, we\u2019ll deliver tasty treats to our partners as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emmanuelschildcare.org\/\">Emmanuel Family &amp; Child Development Center,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/operationbreakthrough.org\/\">Operation Breakthrough<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elcentroinc.com\/\">El Centro<\/a>. Swope Health operates a comprehensive KidsCARE clinic at Emmanuel Family &amp; Child Development Center and a KidsCARE Dental clinic at Operation Breakthrough.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Friday, Aug. 11: Health Center Staff Appreciation Day<\/strong><br \/>\nSwope Health associates will join in the celebration with a photo opportunity \u2013 gathering associates in matching T-Shirts for a group portrait at Central.
