{"id":14309,"date":"2023-08-04T11:50:06","date_gmt":"2023-08-04T16:50:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swopehealth.org\/?p=14309"},"modified":"2024-02-10T09:02:29","modified_gmt":"2024-02-10T15:02:29","slug":"connecting-families-to-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swopehealth.org\/connecting-families-to-care\/","title":{"rendered":"Connecting Families to Care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Swope Health and the Kansas City Monarchs invite you to a special back-to-school event from <strong>10 am to 2 pm Saturday, Aug. 12 at Legends Field, 1800 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kan. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>As Children\u2019s Health Day, part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/swopehealth.org\/join-us-in-celebrating-community-health-center-week\/\">National Community Health Center Week celebration<\/a>, Swope Health will provide on-site health screenings for kids to help with back-to-school requirements. Available screenings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hearing, Vision and Body-Mass Index or growth assessment screenings<\/li>\n<li>Lead poisoning screening and information<\/li>\n<li>Dental screening and fluoride treatment<\/li>\n<li>HIV screening<\/li>\n<li>Preventive screening information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Additional Swope Health associates will be on hand to provide COVID-19 vaccination information, assistance with Medicaid signup and navigation, and dietary consulting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Participants will receive free backpacks with school supplies, including Bombas socks. Each backpack includes a voucher for Monarchs game tickets and ballpark food \u2013 hotdogs, popcorn, and chips \u2013 at Legends Stadium. Participants also have the option of entering an hourly drawing for gas cards, grocery cards, and gift cards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-14310 size-square alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/swopehealth.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/monty-180x180.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" \/>Throughout the event, a DJ will be playing music and Monty, the Monarchs mascot, will be livening up the event and available for photos with families.
