Swope Health announces a new edition of its podcast, One on One with Swope Health, featuring Melesa Johnson, Jackson County prosecutor<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eric Wesson, founder and publisher of The Next Page KC<\/a>, a newspaper focused on the Black community, hosts the show\u2019s conversations with Kansas Citians about issues of importance to the community\u2019s health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this conversation, Johnson reflects on approaching her first 100 days in office. She talks about her priority to improve the relationship with the Police Department, some of the early challenges in the job, and the changes she is implementing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI feel like things are going well,\u201d she said, \u201cand I\u2019m going to keep putting my best foot forward.\u201d She said her relationship with KCPD Chief Stacey Graves is \u201crooted in honesty and truth,\u201d and off to a good start. She also noted already strong relationships with Deputies on the police force stemming from her prior role as Director of Public Safety for the City of Kansas City and her involvement in SAVE KC, the focused deterrence initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
