Eric Wesson, founder and publisher of The Next Page KC, a newspaper focused on the Black community, hosts the show\u2019s conversations with Kansas Citians about issues of importance to the community\u2019s health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Johnson first participated in a One-on-One with Swope Health interview in her role as the Mayor\u2019s director of public safety<\/a>, and again in a conversation marking her first 100 days in office<\/a>. At the time of this conversation, Johnson is approaching the one-year mark of her term in office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019m pretty proud of the progress we\u2019ve been able to make,\u201d she said. \u201cIf you know anything about crime, you know we didn\u2019t get here overnight and so we\u2019re certainly not going to fix it overnight. Incremental progress is still progress. Baby steps are still steps forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
