The awards are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>National Quality Leaders<\/strong> award, for $72,714. This award goes to the top 1 to 2 percent of health centers that meet or exceed national benchmarks. Swope Health was awarded in the area of Behavioral Health. The winning health centers performed depression screening and follow-up on at least 75.9 percent of patients; performed screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment on at least 5 percent of patients; and increased medication-assisted treatment by at least 10 percent from 2017. Swope Health was one of three centers in Missouri to receive this award.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advancing Health Information Technology for Quality<\/strong>, for $10,750. This award recognizes health centers that optimized health information technology (HIT) services for advancing telehealth, patient engagement, interoperability and collection of social determinants of health to increase access to care, and to advance quality of care between 2018 and 2019.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bphc.hrsa.gov\/qualityimprovement\/clinicalquality\/accreditation-pcmh\/selection.html\"><strong>Patient-Centered Medical Home<\/strong><\/a><strong> Recognition<\/strong>, for $60,000. Swope Health was designated a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) in 2018. The PCMH program focuses on the coordinated organization and delivery of primary care, emphasizing access to quality and safety in comprehensive care services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis is a recognition of our achievements in providing high quality healthcare and a demonstration of our commitment to excellence in all aspects of our service,\u201d said Jeron Ravin, JD, president and chief executive of Swope Health. \u201cThis recognition places Swope Health in the top rankings of the nation\u2019s health centers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kenneth Thomas, Director of Pediatrics, who helped spearhead the quality initiatives at Swope Health, said: \u201cThese awards illustrate a true integration between Behavioral Health and Primary Healthcare in caring for our patients. It\u2019s the result of significant efforts from the entire team, from frontline clinical associates to department leadership \u2013 a genuine team accomplishment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Swope Health will reinvest these award funds into additional quality initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Swope Health also was <a href=\"https:\/\/swopehealth.org\/asthma-care-at-swope-health-wins-national-quality-award\/\">recognized recently<\/a> as part of the University of Missouri School of Medicine\u2019s Asthma program, which won the American Board of Medical Specialties \u201cOutstanding Achievement in Quality Improvement Award.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Swope Health is proud to announce it has received three quality improvement \u00a0awards from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
